depresed a little

OK... i have not had a lot of time to paint or do any thing like that. As soon as i get home from work, I'm scrambling trying to feed Zion before we go to the gym. I get home from the gym late.. so there is not much time for much, but a bath and bed time. I wish I can take a day and just paint.

The only thing i have time for is to crochet... I have a job were I sit alot and do nothing all day. so i sneak my yarn in and made so many beautiful things........

anyway i get depress at times because all I want to do is paint. While I'm typing this blog, I could be drawing something right now... but after I'm done I have to get in the shower, wash Zion's hair and do it up for the week. Maybe one day I will get a break.

my table

This is a small collage I did of my sweetie pie when she was an infant... I love her so much. She's a little angle sleeping on her golden thrown. I used glue, toilet paper, gold acyclic paint and a photo of my baby.
I decided to stain my coffee table a cherry red color. so fun it was. My sweetie pie joined in the fun

the Goodwill

I found this book of flowers at the goodwill, my place to shop... So people shop a neiman marcus, I shop at the Goodwill. Love that place... Well anyway. Klimt my idol was highly inspired by flowers and used them in most of his paintings. So i found this book and decided to use it as reference on some of my paintings.

Mother Africa

We are the only group of people who can not trace back our lineage.. ( unless your name is Alex Haily) ... But some how because of our beautiful dark skin, unique features and kinky hair, we are still chained to the motherland. Not only are we chain to it with our physical features but emotionally. That is what this watercolor is about.

This is a mono-type I painted in watercolor on a plexiglass, then put reeves BFK paper on top, then ran it through the printing press. I think it came out pretty damn cool.

Can't Finish

This large ass watercolor I can't seem to finish is killing me softy...It's hanging on my wall because that is the only place I can store it. I walk by it every day and i think to myself "finish it." It's been about 3 months now and I'm not close to finish. This one is taking a lot of research. It's inspired my my hair and history of the American slave.

My little mama wanted to pose for the camera!

Some details.

Klimt... so obsessed

Gustav Klimt is one of the artist I am totally madly, obsessed with. An Austrian painter who rebellious colors and style rocked the core of the conservatism in his country in the late 1800... He became one of the leaders of the Vienna Secession (translation: "leaders of the new school")

Then there's Ernie Barnes.... "Good Times, any time you meet a payment, Good times, Any Time you need a friend, GOOD TIMES." Yes the guy who painted the mural on Good Times. But he is more famous then that though. I admire his elongated figures and how he captured scenes in the black community... something I'm cant do. it's non-existent where I'm at... excuses .... excuses that's my problem.
Anyway.. .Yes. This painting that I have done is inspired by both of these artist.
And this my attempt the remake Klimt "The Kiss."

Artist life in San Antonio experiment

My artistic life in San antonio needs a boost. It's so much different then the one in Atlanta. Well there is a journey I'm going to have to embark on. its going to take blood sweat abd tears but i'm determined. Barriers in this town need to be broken and it starts now. Anyway these small painting were experiment I've done which was inspired by Kerry James Marshall and Basquiat. Kerry James Marshall is not afraid to make the color black what it is... black. Basquiat whom i loooove. I watch the movie Basquiat so many times. I fell in love with his tragic life store. If only some one would give me money to put on a show I would not smoke it away with crack though...lol.... but anyway you are wondering what the hell is he doing to her? When i think about it he praying on her sexiness. licking her good juices...lol.... I guess us black women are tasty like that..lol.
I think i was feeling really depressed when I did this one with the chick thowing up. this one really inspired by Basquiat..
